1. How Traits Work
Traits are passive stat modifiers that can dramatically boost a unit's performance. Each unit holds exactly one trait at a time.
How to Get Traits
Visit the Mandra NPC in the lobby's Upgrades area. Each reroll costs 1 Trait Reroll token and gives a random trait based on drop rates.
Key Rules
One trait per unit. Evolving does NOT reset traits. Traits cannot be transferred between units. Stat Transfers preserve the target's trait and pity.
2. Trait Tier List (Ranked by DPS Increase)
Based on community consensus and DPS calculations. Check the unit tier list for the best units to apply these traits to.
Mythic Traits
MonarchSS
+300% DMG, -10% ATK SPD, +5% Range
Limit: 1 placement only
Drop: 0.1%
Pity: 1,500
4x damage multiplier makes this the strongest single-unit trait. The 1-placement limit means your entire investment goes into one copy — best for units that already have a 1-placement cap or as your single carry.
EtherealSS
+20% DMG, -20% ATK SPD, +5% Range
Drop: 0.175%
Pity: 858
~50% effective DPS increase — damage and attack speed bonuses compound multiplicatively. Best all-around trait with no placement restriction. Generally considered the #1 trait for most units.
DeadeyeS
+45% Crit Chance, +50% Crit DMG
Drop: 0.375%
Pity: 400
~33.75% effective DPS increase. Easier to obtain than Ethereal (400 vs 858 pity) — a strong practical choice while saving rerolls for Ethereal on your top unit.
SolarA
+10% DMG, -5% ATK SPD, +25% Range
Drop: 0.5%
Pity: 300
~15.8% DPS increase with a significant range bonus. Best-in-slot for Support and Utility units where the +25% range matters more than raw DPS.
Legendary Traits
BlitzB+
-20% ATK SPD
Drop: 1.85%
+25% DPS increase. Excellent value at a relatively common drop rate. A solid stopping point for secondary DPS units.
FortuneFarm BIS
+20% Yen income / -10% upgrade cost
Drop: 2.5%
The ONLY trait that matters for Farm units. Relatively easy to hit (~40 rerolls average). Should be your first reroll priority — Fortune on Sprintwagon/Takaroda gives massive economic advantage every run.
Marksman / Scholar
+30% Range / +50% EXP
Drop: 6.5% / 10%
Marksman has niche utility for support/buffer units. Scholar is only useful for leveling — reroll away once your unit is leveled.
Common Traits
Vigor / Swift / Range (Levels I-III)
Drop rate: ~26% each. Vigor III gives +15% DMG, Swift III gives ~14.3% DPS increase, Range III gives +15% range but 0 DPS. Treat these as placeholders — reroll to at least Blitz on any DPS unit you plan to keep.
3. Pity System Explained
The trait pity system guarantees a Mythic trait after a set number of rerolls on the same unit. Pity is tracked per individual unit copy — not globally.
| Trait | Pity | Avg. Rerolls | DPS Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monarch | 1,500 | ~1,000 | +300% (1 unit) |
| Ethereal | 858 | ~571 | +50% |
| Deadeye | 400 | ~267 | +33.75% |
| Solar | 300 | ~200 | +15.8% |
Important Rules
- Pity is per unit — rerolling Unit A does not build pity on Unit B
- Evolving a unit does NOT reset its pity counter
- Normalizing a unit does NOT reset its pity
- Stat Transfers preserve the target unit's trait pity
- Blitz and lower traits do not have a pity system
4. Best Traits Per Role
- Monarch — if it's your single carry
- Ethereal — best overall (+50% DPS)
- Deadeye — great practical choice
- Blitz — solid stopping point
- Solar — range lets buffs reach more allies
- Marksman — +30% range for wider buff coverage
- Blitz — faster buff application
- Solar — range + speed for wider CC coverage
- Blitz — faster CC cycle
- Marksman — range utility
- Fortune — the ONLY trait that matters
- (Nothing else is relevant for Farm units)
5. Reroll Strategy
Trait Rerolls are a limited resource. Spend them in this priority order for maximum team impact:
Fortune on Your Farm Unit
~40 rerolls average. Massive economy boost in every run. Easiest and highest-impact first investment.
Ethereal / Monarch on Your #1 DPS
Put your best rerolls into your strongest SS-tier unit. Push for Ethereal (858 pity) or Monarch (1,500 pity) — this single upgrade can carry you through Legend Stages and Raids.
Deadeye / Blitz on Your #2-3 DPS
Deadeye (400 pity) and Blitz (~54 avg rerolls) are practical targets for secondary damage dealers. Don't burn 1,500 rerolls on a unit that isn't your main carry.
Solar on Your Support / Utility
Solar (300 pity) is the best support trait. The +25% range lets buffs and CC hit more targets.
When to Stop Rerolling
Getting Blitz (+25% DPS) is already a significant upgrade and only costs ~54 rerolls on average. If you're low on tokens, Blitz on all DPS units is better than Ethereal on one unit and nothing on the rest.
6. Common Mistakes
Chasing Monarch on Every Unit
Monarch costs up to 1,500 rerolls and limits you to 1 placement. It's only worth it for your absolute strongest carry unit. Spreading rerolls across your whole team with Blitz/Deadeye gives better total team DPS.
Skipping Fortune on Farm Units
Fortune only costs ~40 rerolls and boosts Yen income by 20% every single run. This is the highest-value reroll in the game. Do it first.
Rerolling Low-Tier Units
Don't invest rerolls in B-tier or lower units. Check the tier list first — those rerolls are better spent on your SS/S-tier carries. Pity is per-unit, so switching later wastes all progress.
